Job Title: Medical Technologist / Medical Laboratory Scientist

Job Description

You will be responsible for conducting day-to-day testing of hematology samples in the laboratory. Perform and interpret various hematology tests, including complete blood counts (CBCs), peripheral blood smears, coagulation studies, and other specialized assays. Accurately identify and differentiate blood cells, including red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets, under a microscope. Collect, process, and store blood samples to maintain sample integrity.

Responsibilities

Essential Skills

• Experience in performing and interpreting various hematology tests, including complete blood counts (CBCs), peripheral blood smears, coagulation studies, and other specialized assays.

• Ability to accurately identify and differentiate blood cells, including red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets, under a microscope.

• Proficiency in collecting, processing, and storing blood samples to maintain sample integrity.

• Must be a certified Medical Technologist (MT or MLS equivalent).

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• 5 years of relevant experience.

• Experience with manual differential reads for CBC, body fluids, coagulation, and general hematology.

• Strong communication skills.

• Attention to detail.

• Critical thinking.

Work Environment

The role is onsite. You will be using old instruments, currently using the Beckman Coulter machine. The package includes 5 days of accrued PTO and 6 paid holidays.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $46.00/hr.
