Immediate opportunity for a Biologist with a passion for plant research. In this position you will work under the guidance of several scientists in data collection and experimental setup for greenhouse, growth chamber and lab studies. This position will provide an exciting opportunity to work with a global leader in agricultural research. This position requires the selected candidate to work onsite in St. Louis, MO. Relocation cost reimbursment is not available, local candidates are preferred.

salary: $23 - $26 per hour

work hours: 8 AM - 5 PM

Responsibilities

• Assist scientists with experiment design, set-up, monitoring and data collection for greenhouse, laboratory, and controlled environment studies.

• With limited supervision, he/she will assist in treatment application, planting/processing/disposal of plants/pathogens per USDA guidelines and training of new team members.

• Be a vital part of daily research activities, collecting/recording data and assisting in other tasks to facilitate timely completion of projects.

• Contribute to maintaining a clean and compliant laboratory, greenhouse and/or controlled environment chamber.

• Attend and participate in group and project meetings. Assist with scheduling and developing complex timelines. Provide timely and frequent communication regarding any updates, changes, or issues that arise.

• Ability to work effectively in a multi-project team environment and collaborate with colleagues to achieve goals, as well as work independently. May be responsible for leading independent projects.

Requirements:

• BA/BS degree, with 1-2 year of greenhouse and/or laboratory agricultural testing experience preferred.

• The successful candidate will be meticulous, have an excellent work ethic, be team-oriented and take direction well.
