Actalent Mechanical Engineer in Charlotte, North Carolina

Job Title: Mechanical EngineerJob Description

  • Utilize proper engineering fundamentals of design and follow standard engineering procedures.

  • Create new designs that meet customer needs and adhere to relevant governmental codes and regulations.

  • Evaluate designs and make recommendations, based on appearance, safety, budget, and function.

  • Provide production support as necessary such as work instructions, light machining, lean process improvement, etc.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an Accredited University: Mechanical Engineering (BSME), Mechanical Engineering Technology (BSET) or equivalent.

  • 3+ years minimum automotive or commercial truck experience is required. Suspension/steering design preferred.

  • CAD experience is required (Autodesk Inventor, Solidworks, or Catia V5).

  • Strong understanding of Finite Element Analysis (FEA).

  • An understanding of manufacturing process engineering.

  • An understanding of Controller Area Network (CAN) – SAE J1939 experience a plus

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 6 Month(s).

This is a fully on-site position in Charlotte, North Carolina.
