Actalent Design Engineer in CHARLOTTE, North Carolina

Job Title: Design Engineer

Job Description:

  • The candidate will be responsible for the creation or modification of design concepts within the Creo environment for air cooled packaged product products. This includes working with documents, drawings and bills of material in a variety of formats.

  • Working knowledge of manufacturing fabrication and assembly methods;

  • Design of Part Modeling, Large Assembly Modeling, Sheet-Metal, Piping.

  • Manage data change and version controls; Design of Part Modeling, Large Assembly Modeling, Sheet-Metal, Piping.

  • Manage data change and version controls; Effective utilization of engineering design tools (Creo, Windchill, ProjectLink, Bill of material system, SharePoint)

  • Demonstrated creativity in new product design and customization; Strong design skills, engineering documentation systems and ability to work within fast moving engineering design team;

  • Coordinate design activities with local team and offshore design teams.

Experience needed for the position includes but is not limited to the following:

  • Three plus years experience in mechanical design and design project management

  • Fully experienced with Pro/ENGINEER (3 years minimum; current Wildfire build); Advanced Assemblies, 3D Modeling, Sheet Metal, Piping, Drawing

  • Fully experienced with Windchill (2 years minimum); Document Management, Change Management, Bill of Materials

  • Excellent skill and experience with drafting standards and procedures

  • Good verbal and written communications skills

  • Experience with bill of material structure and databases

  • Experience with sheet metal design and manufacturing processes

  • Experience with piping design and manufacturing processes

  • Previous relevant job history experience, especially HVAC product design and/or product sustaining

  • Some exposure to electro-mechanical control systems and components

Job Type

This is a full-time consultancy position with an initial duration of 2 Year(s), this is eligible for renewal.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Work Environment

Work within a large manufacturing center that includes a Test Lab and engineering R&D on site. Designers are responsible for their own drafting and documentation. The design team supports all engineering groups, including Custom, Large, Medium, and small engineering groups. There are five test labs onsite. We produce custom and commercial HVAC units, shipping internationally.
