The Billing & Coding Specialist will be responsible for accurately assigning diagnostic and procedural codes to patient records in compliance with established coding guidelines. Responsibilities - Review and analyze patient health records - Assign appropriate medical codes for diagnoses, procedures, and services performed - Ensure accuracy and compliance with coding guidelines and regulations - Communicate with healthcare providers to clarify diagnoses or procedures as needed - Stay updated on changes in coding guidelines and regulations Skills - Proficiency in medical coding systems such as ICD-9, ICD-10, and DRG - Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures - Familiarity with medical billing processes - Strong attention to detail - Ability to work with electronic health record systems - Previous experience in a medical office setting is a plus Rate of pay based on experience starting at $17.00/hour
