Queen Anne's County Government Senior Center Aide, Part-Time, Contractual in Centreville, Maryland

JOB SUMMARY

This contractual position assists with day-to-day activities associated with Senior Centers and the Nutrition Program throughout the County and provides general assistance to senior citizens as assigned. This position works 20 hours per week Monday - Friday between the hours of 9:00-1:00. Hours may vary for special events although the contract hours will never go over twenty per week.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Answers | | phones and greets people as they enter the senior center ensuring | | everyone signs-in. | | | | Serve as manager-on-duty during staff lunch breaks. | | | | Ability to handle money, give change, and manage cash accurately. | | | | Coordinates with Senior Center Manager regarding the daily | | programming schedule and special events. | | | | Assists with the Congregate Meal Program including taking food | | temperatures, maintaining food temperatures and serving meals. Senior | | Center Aides must uphold food safety policies. | | | | Leads and assists seniors in daily programs for educational and | | entertainment activities. | | | | Enters daily information into the data management system. | | | | Periodically assigned to deliver meals to the elderly through the | | Home Delivered Meals program. | | | | Provides information to clients in written and verbal form. | | | | Maintains required reports, files, statistics, logs and other | | materials. | | | | Must be in compliance with all department and county policies at all | | times, and ensure attendees are in compliance with all policies. | | | | Performs other duties as assigned. | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------+

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

+-----------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Senior Aide- | | | | High School diploma or general education degree; and additional one | | to three months related experience and/or training. | | | | CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: | | | | Possession of a Class C Maryland Motor Vehicle Operators license (or | | equivalent for another state) or the ability to acquire such a | | license within thirty (30) days of employment. | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------+
