Description

The Arc Mid-Hudson is seeking a Director of Operations who will be responsible for providing leadership and support to agency-wide initiatives, promoting a positive approach to the support and development of those who work at The Arc Mid-Hudson and the people served by the agency.

This position requires adherence to agency safety standards, the Code of Conduct, HIPAA other applicable regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities include but limited to:

  • Leading in providing individualized services and supports that create a secure, home-like or community included environment that promotes greater health, independence, inclusion, and productivity.

  • Ensure the smooth, effective operation of all Residential, Day Services and Community Habilitation programs operated by the agency.

  • Ensure that all aspects of the program are coordinated when necessary, and appropriate, with other programs and agencies providing service to people; and done so, in compliance with applicable governmental regulations and policies of the agency. They shall provide for the continuous improvement in the quality of services to the people served.

  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with:

  • Senior Management Team, Regional Directors and Coordinators to assure the continuous, effective operation of the program in accordance with agency policies.

  • Director of Maintenance to assure adequate and timely maintenance of all residential and day service facilities.

  • Professionals of other agencies to assure consistency and quality of service to people.

  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with agency department directors to assure the appropriateness, quality, and consistency of services provided to the residents and participants of the programs.

  • Communicate effectively with all agency staff to ensure consistency and follow through with philosophy and goals of the agency.

  • Perform periodic reviews of each program (operational procedures, maintenance, and ground inspections) in order to monitor the quality and effectiveness of the respective program.

  • Prepare and monitor budgets for all Residential, Day Services and Community Habilitation programs operated by the agency.

  • Provide for needs assessment and development of additional programs as needed.

  • Recruit and select staff in conjunction with appropriate administrative and program staff.

  • Periodically review and revise staff development needs to enable staff to meet needs of the people.

  • Ensures compliance with agency policies and procedures and county, state and federal regulations as they relate to your position.

  • Participate in appropriate committees as required.

  • May be requested to perform other duties as they relate to Agency operations.

    HOURS: 40 / Monday - Friday

    SALARY: $85,000 - $100,000

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences, Humanities, or Education.

  • Proven managerial and administrative experience.

  • Experience working with the developmentally disabled population in a Residential Setting.
