JOB POSTING: Deputy CFO/ Payroll Clerk

DEPUTY CFO/PAYROLL CLERK CAPE MAY CITY.

The City of Cape May is seeking a FT Deputy Chief Finance Officer (Deputy CFO) / Payroll Clerk with local government financial management experience in New Jersey. City of Cape May currently has an approximate overall budget of $40 million, with three (3) utility funds; $7.6 million Water & Sewer, $1.3 million Tourism Utility, $4.2 million Beach Utility.

Under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer, primary responsibilities of the position are to ensure the accurate execution of payroll for all hourly and salary personnel, administer the City's health benefit program, enroll employees in various State pension systems and complete the quarterly reporting, comply with the Family Medical Leave Act, administer the City's FlexCare and flexible spending account programs, assist employees with enrolling in 3rd party retirement or accident insurance programs, and ensuring payroll agency disbursements are made timely.

As Deputy CFO, assist in the overall management of the finance office through reviewing expenditures for compliance with budget policies, verifying accuracy of processed fiscal actions; does other related duties as required.

Experience in local government with Edmunds and NJ State Pension rules and regulations, preferred.
