Description We are in the market for a Sr. Estimator to join our team located in CANASTOTA, New York. This role entails the responsibility of collecting and evaluating data to prepare accurate bids. The Sr. Estimator will be expected to work closely with a team of estimators, ensuring coordination and oversight of vendors and subcontractors during the bidding process. This position offers a contract to permanent employment opportunity.

Responsibilities

• Gather information by analyzing proposals, blueprints, construction documents, and specifications to understand and prepare detailed estimates for projects.

• Ensure bid requirements are met by thoroughly analyzing documents, plans, and blueprints.

• During the bid process, provide all relevant drawings and specifications to subcontractors.

• Calculate time, labor, material, and product costs to determine the overall cost for projects.

• Develop and maintain relationships with clients, vendors, consultants, contractors, engineers, shop personnel, and project team members.

• Prepare and present written proposals, cost estimates, and budget updates for clients and other stakeholders.

• Distribute drawings to the appropriate personnel and may be responsible for some material ordering.

• Possess proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.

• Demonstrate knowledge of ERP Implementation and have experience in inventory ordering.

• Have a background in mechanical contracting and a solid understanding of piping systems.

• Possess strong customer service skills and familiarity with SAP and Construction Estimator. Requirements • Must possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role as a Senior Estimator.

• Proven ability to provide exceptional Customer Service.

• Strong knowledge of SAP software is essential.

• Prior experience as a Construction Estimator is a requirement.

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is required.

• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.

• Ability to work independently as well as collaborate with a team.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and Word.

• Must have a thorough understanding of construction procedures and material and project management principles.

• Familiarity with financial and project management principles.

• In-depth understanding of research methodology, data analysis, and estimation metrics.

• Good knowledge of relevant construction technology and equipment.

• Must be a detail-oriented individual with strong mathematical and IT skills.

• Professional Certification like a Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) will be an asset.
