Job Title: MIG Welder

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled MIG Welder to join our team. The ideal candidate will work in a designated welding station, read and interpret welding diagrams, and fit and weld structural steel sheets and tubes. The role involves MIG (GMAW) welding up to several feet in one weld with widths of 10mm+, grinding down welds, operating various machines to form metal, inspecting welds, and ensuring finished products meet specifications. Other duties will be assigned as needed.

Responsibilities

• Work in designated welding station

• Read and interpret welding diagrams

• Fit and weld structural steel sheets and tubes

• Perform MIG (GMAW) welding up to several feet in one weld with widths of 10mm+ Grind down welds and operate different machines to form metal

• Inspect welds and check that finished products meet weld diagram specifications

• Perform other duties as assigned

Essential Skills

• 3+ years of MIG Welding experience in vertical and horizontal positions

• Ability to read and interpret welding diagrams

• Ability to accurately take measurements and convert units of measurement

• Comfortable working in confined spaces (4-5ft diameter cylinder)

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with fitting, machine operating, TIG welding, tack welding, and grinding

• Knowledge of blueprint reading

Work Environment

Our very large welding shop is well-organized and maintained, though it can get hot inside when it's hot outside. We have lots of fans and large bay doors open for air circulation. We foster a great work culture where everyone is approachable and willing to help. The afternoon shift runs from Monday to Thursday, 3 PM - 1:30 AM. Overtime is available after 40 hours, with double-time pay on Sundays.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cambridge, Ontario.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $30.00/hr.
