Job Description

We are seeking a skilled MIG Welder to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a designated welding station, interpreting welding diagrams, and fitting and welding structural steel sheets, tubes, and other materials. The role involves performing MIG (GMAW) welding, grinding down welds, and operating various machines to form metal. You will also be responsible for inspecting welds and ensuring that finished products meet weld diagram specifications.

Responsibilities

• Work in a designated welding station.

• Read and interpret welding diagrams.

• Fit and weld structural steel sheets, tubes, and other materials.

• Perform MIG (GMAW) welding up to several feet in one weld with widths of 10mm or more.

• Grind down welds and operate different machines to form metal.

• Inspect welds and ensure finished products meet weld diagram specifications.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

• 3+ years of MIG Welding experience (Vertical, Horizontal).

• 2+ years of fitting experience.

• Ability to read and interpret welding diagrams.

• Ability to accurately take measurements and convert units of measurement.

• Comfortable working in confined spaces (4-5ft diameter cylinder).

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in fitting, machine operating, TIG welding, tacking, machine parts, and grinding.

Work Environment

Our facility is a very large, well-organized, and maintained welding shop. It can get hot inside when it's hot outside, but we have many fans and large bay doors open for air circulation. We have a great work culture where everyone is approachable and willing to help. We offer two shifts: Day Shift (Monday to Thursday 6 AM - 3 PM, Friday 6 AM - 12 PM) and Afternoon Shift (Monday to Thursday 3 PM - 1:30 AM).

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cambridge, Ontario.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $30.00/hr.
