Enable the next generation of high-powered lasers as part of a manufacturing team. As the first escalation point for Engineering, troubleshoot and resolve process, equipment and product issues. Perform hands-on production tasks, including: electromechanical assembly of equipment and products, splicing of optical fibers, inspection with microscopes, operation of electrical test equipment, operation of lasers, and analysis of production data.

Swing Shift: Monday - Friday: 4:00PM to 12:30AM
Responsibilities
Learn and perform equipment maintenance and product testing operations required to build fiber lasers:
- Act as first line of defense in troubleshooting equipment and process issues, routine data collection and effective communication of status and solutions
- Perform maintenance and calibration activities to ensure high production station uptime
- Assist Engineering to transition processes to new equipment and help develop and sustain high yielding processes.
- Reporting to Engineering, develop and test improved processes in support of new product introduction and efficiency improvement targets.
- Assist Operation Techs in improving processes and help increase yields across the line
- Work collaboratively with process engineering to manage specific processes, and assist in defining and executing continuous process improvements
- Within designated work areas, pay close attention to subtle changes in processes or tests and document these observations
- Help define, and then execute routine process equipment maintenance
- Assist with the training and certification of Production Personnel
- Identify potential safety hazards in manufacturing stations and processes and drive solutions to them
- Lead by example in eliminating Process Engineering from Production's critical path
- Drive continuous improvement opportunities utilizing PFMEA, and a wide variety of analytical techniques (such as SPC, DOE, Gage R&R), lean manufacturing and six sigma concepts
*Qualifications *
- 3-5 years professional work experience in volume Production environment working with electronics, semiconductor equipment or opto-mechanical assemblies
- Associates Degree in Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical, or exceptional industrial experience in closely related technologies is preferable.
- Meticulous attention to detail, highly organized and self-motivated
- Experience in sub-systems, fibers, precision optical/electro-mechanical assemblies
- Strong record of problem solving, implementing robust processes and systems
- Experience with new product introduction and product lifecycle process
- Experience with mechanical drawings, basic tooling and fixture design
- Knowledge and understanding of optics, fibers, laser diodes and test equipment is highly preferred
Ability to work in cleanroom attire and wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for extended periods of time, including laser safety protective eyewear.
