Valve Assembly Technician
The incumbent will be responsible for performing production duties in the Valve Assembly areas in accordance with good manufacturing practice and established standard operating procedures. This role requires on-site availability to work at our Burnaby facility in British Columbia.
Key Responsibilities
Performs assembly tasks associated with the manufacturing of a tissue heart valve prothesis.
Assures equipment has been calibrated and is in acceptable working condition prior to use; reports issues promptly.
Maintains traceability and preservation of product in their possession.
Documents work accurately and completely in the Manufacturing Execution System (MES), BPCS Business System, forms or logbooks/daily production logs as applicable.
Performs cleaning of critical manufacturing room and gowning areas in accordance with established procedures.
Handles chemicals in a safe manner and in accordance with procedures.
Performs daily monitoring and cleaning of equipment as required.
Performs all operations and utilizes equipment following written procedures.
Performs other duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to do repetitive detailed work within guidelines.
Demonstrated ability to perform hand-sewing tasks with extreme detail, accuracy and speed.
Good written and verbal communication skills in English (critical to follow procedures and maintain precise records).
Open-minded and accepts constructive criticism and feedback.
Good manual dexterity.
Normal vision or normal when corrected by glasses.
Ability to work well with co-workers in a team environment with limited supervision.
Must have basic computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite).
Experience and Education
- High school education or equivalent.
Shift
Full time Monday to Friday 06:45-15:15. Shift hours may vary.
Occasional overtime and adjustment to the scheduled shift, such as working on weekends, may be needed to accommodate maintenance activities and business needs

Compensation:
- Training Wage: $19/hr, Upon completion of training, wage will increase to $20/hr.
