ABOUT THE ROLE

You will be in charge of leading Scotch and Baileys categories for the entire Eastern Europe (EE) business unit (30+ markets), shaping the future of multiple brands and being in charge of their consistent growth. You will be managing a team of 3-5 people, working as part of the regional EE Marketing Lead Team and reporting to the Marketing Director of the EE region.

You will own, drive and project manage the creation of category and brand strategy and plans based on consumer, customer and shopper insights, build brand equity and help drive;

  • Recruitment/Re-recruitment – both from a customer and consumer perspective

  • Scale – in all commercial elements of the brands, building strong relationships with the commercial teams and our Distribution Partners on the ground to deliver above and beyond the yearly P&L targets

  • Fame – making these brands the most talked about across the market. You will work with the Global Brand Teams, multiple agencies, cross-functional teams, external Distributor Partners and internal Business Partners to deliver on our salience and brand love objectives

  • Culture – driving Diageo brands’ role in the Eastern European Culture, deepening our relationship with consumers to build the equity of our global brands in a locally relevant way

  • Digitalization – demonstrating the most recent marketing tools and transforming Mental Availability building from traditional media into digital

  • Vision – lead the long-term (5 year) thinking of category growth and evolving the brand strategies to enable this.

Top Accountabilities

Functional:

  • Create, drive and project manage the creation of long-term category/brand strategy and brand plans based on consumer, customer, and shopper insight

  • Orchestrate engagement with distributor partners, Executive team, global and cross-functional regional teams to ensure delivery of the strategy. Successfully manage partners internally (Commercial, RGM team, Finance) and externals (Distributor Partners, Culture-, Media- and Creative agencies)

  • Lead cross-agency teams and foster new partnerships in developing the brand’s communication approach and execution in an omnichannel environment (on, off & 3rd space, ecom)

  • Find, own and build the role the brand plays in culture, working collaboratively with members of the Culture & Entertainment function

  • Ownership over innovation elements of the brands, product launches, new-to-world activities etc.

  • Lead the relationship with the Global Brand Teams for the market

  • Shape the brand to thrive in a digital environment, develop long term digital strategy & social media plans

  • Own the full P&L for the brands across the market. Understand and respond to the drivers of your brand performance with focus on market share, brand equity, awareness and penetration, working in partnership with the commercial teams to deliver and exceed the annual operating plan

  • Manage the pricing & promo strategy, margin mix and volume drivers for all brands across the full market

  • Create brand strategies and drive them through to thoughtfully implemented plans that consistently beat the competition and gain share

  • Engage, coach, advise and support all team members on all brand activities, demonstrating leadership both in the what and the how so that they can excel in and deliver brand activities

ABOUT YOU

  • 10+ years of relevant marketing experience

  • Proven experience in leading a team

  • Proven track record in building strategic plans and implementing them showcasing excellence in storytelling, influencing, envisioning and building engagement for a major market

  • Regional marketing experience for multiple countries with diverse consumer profile

  • Being able to excel when dealing with ambiguity, complexity and working within a fast-paced, entrepreneurial and matrixed environment

  • Holistic skills across all marketing pillars as well as a track record of leading transformational business results

  • Successful management of senior partners at all levels, resulting in strong and positive outcomes

  • A history of working across media, digital, experiential, PR, culture, social and with external agencies

  • Demonstrated brilliant execution to globally best-in-class standards

  • Strong end to end commercial FMCG understanding, alongside high levels of numerical foresight and attention to detail
