Job Description:

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Hands-On Technical Writing Manager to join our team and take ownership of our technical documentation efforts. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic and innovative environment, contribute to the evolution of our technical writing process, and make a significant impact on our organization's success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of technical writers, ensuring high productivity and delivering high-quality content

  • Collaborate with product managers, product marketing, and engineers to create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation including User Guides, Integration Guides, API Developer Guides, Knowledge Base Articles, Release Notes, Online Help, Manuals of style, and In-platform documentation

  • Oversee the entire lifecycle of technical documentation, including planning, estimating, drafting, editing, reviewing, and publishing

  • Drive efficiency and accuracy by leveraging generative AI technology to automate parts of the technical writing process

  • Manage the translation process of documentation and coordinate with translators

  • Gather customer feedback on documentation to enhance usability and meet end-user needs

  • Maintain a comprehensive library of application documentation, cataloging it for internal and external use

  • Develop expertise in the Content Management System platform and its various tools for content-related tasks

  • Stay up to date with industry trends, technologies, and best practices in technical writing and generative AI

    Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, Computer Science, or a related field

  • Minimum 10 years of experience working as a Technical Writer or in a related role

  • Minimum 2 years of experience leading and managing technical writers, ensuring high-quality deliverables

  • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to quickly grasp complex concepts and tools

  • Proficiency in common technical writing tools such as MadCap Flare, Adobe FrameMaker, Microsoft Word, etc.

  • Familiarity with version control systems, such as Git, for managing documentation revisions

  • Knowledge of content management systems and their role in maintaining and publishing technical documentation

  • Experience with generative AI technology and its application in the technical writing process

  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive and collaborative approach to finding solutions

  • Understanding of programming code and the ability to comprehend and effectively document APIs

    Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience working in Agile development environments

  • Knowledge of XML authoring tools and DITA

  • Familiarity with Atlassian products (Jira, Confluence, GIT) and Zendesk

  • Experience in the telecommunications software industry

  • Experience with source control systems, such as Bitbucket
