RiseBoro Homecare Inc. Tenant Services Director, 326 Rockaway Supportive Housing Program in BROOKLYN, New York
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Tenant Services Director is part of the leadership team at the 326 Rockaway Supportive Housing Program. The Tenant Services Director provides guidance to staff and enhance services focused on community building, education, and resources building for 87 young adult individuals aged 18-25 and 43 families with children headed by young adults aged 18-25. The Tenant Services Director will:
Supervise the coordination of tenant services and all program staff ensuring daily activities are held according to program protocols and in line with RiseBoro’s mission
Actively coordinate day to day on-site services for tenants and ensure all service provision is representative of RiseBoro’s mission and in line with funder requirements
Partake in supervision with staff to ensure appropriate delivery of services, assess staff performance, and provide support for job improvement
Oversee the creation of groups and activities and workshops supporting family and parent skills
Coordinate with staff and community partners to establish health and wellness workshops
Perform life skill and needs assessments for all new tenants to evaluate basic needs that may interfere with independent living skills, maintain stable housing; re-assess residents periodically to determine progress and new or ongoing needs
Help instruct tenants in daily living skills, socialization skill enhancement, community building, and conflict resolution.
Lead the creation of graduation plans for tenants exiting the program
Work with Education Coordinator to develop and implement independent living skills curriculum for tenants ready to move to less or non-programmatic housing; assess skill levels after partaking in the curriculum
Conduct monthly tenant meetings to create community and encourage tenant participation in programmatic decision-making
Establish educational and recreational programming for children whose parents are participating in workshops, case conferences, and other aspects of their service plan
Lead their team’s follow-up efforts for tenants who move on from the program into more independent housing
Outreach in the community to establish and maintain new relationships and partnerships; utilize needs assessments to determine pertinent partnerships that support tenant goals
On call 24 hours a day/seven days a week in case of emergencies
Additional responsibilities may be added as position evolves
COMPETENCIES
Dynamic, able to multi-task, problem solve, and work independently
Team player and willing to work with a diverse population
Ability to travel and to be on call 24/7 in case of emergencies
Trained in child development, mandated reporting, and family dynamics
Trained in harm reduction and housing first services approaches
Experience with evidence-based practices and/or evidence-informed services including, but not limited to:
Positive Youth Development
Recovery-Oriented and Trauma-Informed Case Management
Critical Time Intervention
Commitment to RiseBoro’s mission of unleashing the potential of communities to thrive, no matter the odds
2-4 years of supervisory experience
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Master of Social Work with at least 3 years of relevant social service experience, particularly serving families with young children required.
