Your Role on Our Team:
As a self-driven engineer, you will pursue early research and development on new and emerging technologies in such areas as Additive Manufacturing, Advanced Materials Development, Data & AI/ML, as well as advancements in prototyping and testing. You will take full ownership of these technologies, becoming the subject matter expert, and introduce innovative solutions through rapid proof-of-concepts, prototyping and experimentation. You must possess a strong background of engineering fabrication and prototyping processes along with a mindset to support those activities as part of delivering new technology applications.
Core Responsibilities
Lead research & development of emerging technologies through proof of concepts and prototype builds
Be the subject matter expert in defining, designing, and delivering on front-end, advanced engineering
Leveraging the Technology Readiness Levels (TRLs), you will de-risk technologies to a level of maturity ready for broader organization introduction
Perform hands-on fabrication, assembly, and testing of components, fixtures, and equipment
Ability to create part and assembly drawings in CAD (NX, SolidWorks)
Create and run test plans utilizing Design of Experiments (DOE)
Foster and maintain partnerships with internal and external engineering teams
Support development of test and measurement tools and processes
Desired Qualities
Inquisitive nature and self-starter that takes a never-settle approach
Effective communicator that reports out new technology to peers, management, and cross-functional groups
Ability to collaborate with peers and cross-functional teams including internationally
Desire to continually upskill and learn both professionally and technically
Experience with Finite Element Analysis tools (ANSYS, MATLAB, Simulink, etc)
Requirements
Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or related field
2+ years working in a research and development environment
Experience developing and protecting intellectual property (IP)
Ability to travel 10% of the time, domestic and international
Mechanical aptitude and desire to be hands-on
