JOB REQUIREMENTS: Collaborate with various engineering teams to design, model, simulate, and implement innovative control algorithms for our products. Execute a lead role in the design, modeling, and simulation of advance control algorithms. Develop, analyze, maintain, and document control system architecture. Use modeling tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, and Stateflow. Collaborate with Hardware and Firmware Engineers to optimize and implement next-generation control algorithms. Peer review software and controls designs/source code. Lead and mentor the team in engineering best practices including task management, root cause analysis, and control algorithm development. May manage team members. Innovate control solutions to meet the needs of the business. Use laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, electronic loads, and HIL test equipment to validate control algorithms. Track projects to ensure adherence to schedule and Milwaukee Tool\'s processes. Schedule, develop agendas for, facilitate, and document technical meetings and formal presentations. Develop and apply manufacturing mindset to designs to effectively and efficiently mass produce power tools. Acquire knowledge and maintain an understanding of Milwaukee Tool\'s development and manufacturing processes. ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Master\'s or equivalent degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering field and 5 years of relevant design experience or Bachelor\'s or equivalent degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering field and 7 years of relevant design experience. Experience must include: Model-based control development utilizing design tools, such as MATLAB/Simulink. Closed loop control theory, vector control, and pulse width modulation techniques. Control loop tuning and stability analysis. Developing fault detection and mitigation algorithms for single phase and/or three phase power systems. MATLAB/Simulink model-based design workflow, code generation and automated testing. Integrating model-based generated code with software/firmware modules. Developing plant models to simulate physical systems. Reading power electronics schematics and component data sheets. Ability to travel domestically and internationally 10% of the time required.
