Job Summary: • Manages the daily operations of the Laboratory. Responsibilities: * Technically expert in Blood Bank. * CAP inspection preparation. * Communicate with other departments to help resolve issues. * Work closely with Blood Bank Standardization team. * Help reduce blood product waste. * Develop specific departmental goals, standards, and objectives. * Develop and implements policies, procedures, standards and initiatives. * Manage staff relations including performance management, staff satisfaction and conflict management. * Perform and oversees scheduling, recruitment, and payroll. * Monitor departmental budgets, regulatory compliance, departmental contracts, and vendor relations. Determines and justifies needs for equipment purchases. * Participates in the education and instruction of students, employees, patients and other personnel as needed. * Serves as the technical expert in primary area of clinical responsibility. * Evaluates and implements new equipment and procedures. * Other Duties as assigned Required Credential(s): • Certified Clinical Medical Technologist (ASCP) credentialed from the American Society of Clinical Pathologists obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
