Responsibilities You will assist skilled and semi-skilled trade workers by performing the simpler duties of the trade, i.e., obtaining tools, plans and materials. You will assist others in performing trade tasks such as disassembly, repair, and assembly of components; preparation, coating or removal of materials from surfaces; removal, fitting, and installation of piping. You will assist others in performing trade tasks such as handling, storing and disposing of materials. Education Additional Information You will be applying for the Helper Trainee (Various Trades) and not a specific trade. The PSNS and IMF management reserves the right to place you in a specific trade. A Recruitment Incentive of $2,000 or more may be authorized on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, and ability. This announcement uses the Defense Industrial Base, Major Range and Test Facilities direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to certain positions in the competitive service. This announcement will be used to fill Helper Trainee (Various Trades) positions at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility (PSNS and IMF). The Helper Trainee WG-01 position prepares you for marine industrial careers. This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Several vacancies may be filled. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if the selectee fails to meet the pre-employment requirements, including failure to report to any of the scheduled appointments.
