Job Description: Salary Range: $50,000-$55,000, commensurate with experience Collective Bargaining Unit: This position is governed by APA Hours: This position is 37.5 hours GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: The Program Coordinator of Student Engagement supports the Director of Student Engagement by creating and implementing leadership development opportunities, and contributing to departmental events, goals and initiatives. SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Director of Student Engagement SUPERVISION EXERCISED: Student Staff DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: • Develop and facilitate leadership development opportunities and programs for current and future student leaders (i.e., Training required of paid student leadership positions, Emerging Leaders program, etc.) • Coordinate the Student Leadership Employment Process o Meet with Hiring Managers included in the process to discuss timeline, any changes, goals, etc. o Oversee application management to ensure all students are fulfilling the requirements of interviewing for the positions they've applied for o Coordinate and facilitate Group Interviews with relevant hiring managers o Manage the Hiring Manager selection meeting to ensure the highest number of eligible students receive leadership employment opportunities • Coordinate the Student Leadership Awards process and ceremony • Assist in the implementation of New Student & Family Orientation and transition programs. • Assist in the hiring, training and co-supervision of the Orientation Primers, the institution's student orientation leaders, alongside the Director and Lead Primers. Provide Primers with mentorship, professional development, training, and guidance to maximize the efficacy of the programs and resources they offer incoming MassArt students. • Coordinate Civic Engagement efforts, including, but not limited to, Constitution Day and MassArt Votes voter education programs alongside campus partners • Assist in the planning and implementation of Student Engagement programs such as the Resource Fair, Involvement Fair, and Late Night Breakfast as needed • Assist in marketing programs and events sponsored by the Colleges of the Fenway consortium, and the ProArts consortium. Serve on consortium committees as assigned. • Assist Director and Student Development staff in supporting major university programs (i.e., Commencement, Accepted Students Days, Family & Supporter programs, etc.) • Performs other related duties as assigned. Requirements: Working Conditions: In addition to working Monday through Friday, this individual may need to work evenings and weekends Physical Effort: • Occasional (10-33%) - Reaching, pushing, grasping and pulling. Lifting up to 10 pounds. • Frequent (34-66%) - Standing and walking. • Constant (67-100%) - Viewing of computer screen and reports, sitting, repetitive motion, talking and hearing. Minimum Qualifications: • Education: Bachelor's Degree • Experience: 1-3 years working in a Higher Education setting • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously • Strong oral and written communication skills • Ability to take initiative, and work independently and creatively • Computer literacy and experience with word processing, spreadsheets, databases, data analysis. • Strong fiscal management skills • Experience working closely with students from diverse backgrounds in a higher education setting. • Demonstrated experience working collaboratively with students, staff, and faculty to develop and implement programs and events for undergraduate college students Preferred Qualifications: • Education: Master's Degree in Higher Education Administration, College Counseling or related field • Experience supervising student employees, and advising student leaders • Spanish speaking and/or multilingual Additional Information: Please note MassArt: • Does not support employment-based visa sponsorship or non-student exchange visitor visa sponsorship. • Is not an E-Verify institution.
