Summary: The Product Manager is a subject matter expert skilled at working cross-functionally who provides overall product execution and delivery related to Stride strategy. They lean on their working knowledge and ability to analyze and understand customer needs to help shape the team\'s roadmap, roll out developed tools, identify innovation opportunities, and measure success. The Product Manager is skilled at working with multiple stakeholders and prioritizing backlogs appropriately.
Essential Functions

- Work with product owners, architects, UX designers, researchers, and development teams to ensure the business, quality, and feature goals are met for each release;
- Proactively manage and prioritize the product, release, and sprint backlogs according to business value, complexity, and expectations;
- Utilize working knowledge of product management to interact with developers, communicate needs, and drive feature execution;
- Ensure relevant innovation for our customers through the creation, collaboration, and execution of high-quality business requirements;
- Document and understand users and their needs, and make sure products meet those needs; informed by hands-on user testing and apply the results;
- Define and document product requirements, user stories, functional specifications, and business logic as needed;
- Implement and analyze metrics and data to assess success and identify trends;
- Provide relevant product documentation, including user guides, release notes, go-to-market materials, and support documentation;
- Work with product owner and project manager to develop roll-out implementation plans of new features and products to multiple schools and business lines;
- Maintain a prioritized backlog of user stories, features, and defects;
- Provide business leadership for the scrum team by understanding and executing product goals and vision;
- Ensure the completeness and accuracy of product backlog items for the scrum team by creating clear and thoughtful documentation;
- Collaborate with the scrum team to prioritize, plan, and release working product increments by being an active participant in all scrum ceremonies;
- Respect and empower the scrum team\'s ability to create its plan of action each sprint while protecting the team;
- Inspire and motivate the engineering teams to deliver innovative solutions with an appropriate sense of urgency.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no formal supervisory responsibilities.
Minimum Required Qualifications
:
- Five (5) years of related product management experience, especially in accessibility, assistive technology, online learning, and digital education OR
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
Certificates and Licenses: None required.
OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Demonstrates experience providing strong product execution leadership for complex early-stage projects
- Experience leading technology-based product management initiatives
- Passionate and skilled in gathering and interpreting user perspectives so that requirements and design reflect real needs. Experience working with users with a range of functional needs
- Experience collaborating with internal and external technology partners as well as non-technical stakeholders
- Excellent communication, negotiation, leadership, influence-management, and problem-solving skills.
- Previous success working with multiple concurrent Agile software development teams (especially S rum and/or Kanban)
- Experience with Agile development tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Aha, etc.
- Experience with online collaboration tools such as O365, Google Docs, Miro, Trello, StoriesOnBoard, etc.
- Ability to pass a required background check Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, etc.); Web proficiency.
- Ability to travel 5% of the time
- Ability to pass a required background check
Desired Qualifications
:
- Bachelor\'s degree in a related field
- Experience in education technology organization
- Management experience
