As an Electrical Engineer for the Global Facilities Engineering department at Micron Technology, Inc., you will be responsible to provide high quality Engineering services and support for the planning, design, construction, operation, and maintenance of your subject area. In this role, you will support the Facilities Teams and Manufacturing sites across the network as the Technical Authority through all phases with focus and emphasis on Global Standardization and Alignment, Innovation, Reliability and Performance, and Sustainability.
Responsibilities and Tasks
Provide Technical Support, Leadership, and Expertise
Provide consultation and support to Global, Regional, and Site Facilities and Manufacturing teams as the Technical Field Authority
Collaborate with internal partners including Technology Development Team, Procurement, Finance, and Legal
Develop, review, and maintain Micron Global system, equipment, and component standards, specifications, and best-known methods (BKMs)
Ensure standardization and alignment across the Micron Global Network and Sites for engineering and design concepts, construction project execution, reliability programs, and operations and maintenance practices
Analyze system designs to identify improvements for better performance, efficiency gains, reduced maintenance, and cost savings
Support sites with problem analysis using standard tools and methodologies
Compare engineering methodologies and standard processes both within and outside Micron sites
Maintain advanced technical knowledge on industry trends, technological advances, design innovations, and sustainability
Provide Design and Construction Project Support, Leadership, and Expertise
Support global, regional, and site teams in engineering and design development for large-scale facilities infrastructure expansion projects
Develop, review, and maintain Micron Global Design and Construction Standards and Specifications
Develop system design concepts for deployment in projects
Ensure effective communication with local Facilities, Design, Construction, Procurement, and Manufacturing partners
Review design packages and provide detailed feedback
Support cost and schedule estimates for project approval
Supervise and coordinate consultant resources
Ensure scope meets customer and requestor needs
Follow change management procedures
Supervise construction progress as necessary
Ensure designs align with all relevant standards, codes, and regulations
Review capacity planning databases and system operating trends
Participate in capacity and scenario planning, including evaluating system and distribution capacity impacts
Provide Global Initiatives Program Support, Leadership, and Expertise
Develop, review, and maintain Micron Global BKMs for operations and maintenance reliability and performance
Lead global facilities programs and initiatives, establishing objectives, roadmaps, and high-level implementation plans
Lead global sustainability programs for emissions, energy, water, wastewater, and green infrastructure design in support of Micron's Corporate Sustainability program
Incorporate lessons learned and feedback into Micron Global Standards and BKMs
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering required
4 to 10 years of experience in semiconductor or facilities-related industry
Technical expertise in facilities and semiconductor electrical systems
Self-motivated with the ability to travel internationally 25% of the time, up to 50% during critical project phases
Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks concurrently
Strong organizational and customer-focused skills
Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills, with proficiency in English
