AHRC Suffolk Residential Operations Specialist in Bohemia, New York

Role Summary: The Residential Operations Specialist with the support of the Director of Residential will oversee and

provide support to multiple OPWDD (Office for People with Developmental Disabilities) residential homes. This role

requires a dynamic leader with strong organizational and interpersonal skills who can adapt to different environments and

manage diverse teams. The Residential Operations Specialist will be responsible for maintaining high standards of care,

ensuring compliance with regulations, and addressing any operational challenges that arise.

Role Responsibilities:

 Provides managerial support to residential homes where there is escalated level of needs.

 Acts as House Manager in the absence of a House Manager as assigned, ensuring adherence to OPWDD

regulations and organizational policies.

 Manages up to 3 site in a House Manager capacity, as needed.

 Reviews systems within the locations to ensure uniformity across programs.

 Conducts regular site visits to monitor the quality of care, address any issues, and ensure the homes are

operating efficiently

 Trains staff, provides clear expectations of house needs, and shift responsibilities, and ensures all staff is enrolled

in and completes additional training as needed.

 Assists with interview process, hiring decisions, and ensuring all staff is held accountable to all policies and

procedures.

 Maintains accurate and up-to-date documentation related to resident care, staff performance, and operational

procedures.

 Provides on-site support during emergencies or crises, including conflict resolution and immediate problemsolving.

 Reports on operational status, challenges, and successes to Director of Residential.

 Facilitates effective communication between different residential homes, support departments and organizational

leadership.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a Human Services or related field preferred.

 3+ years in a Supervisory role in an OPWDD setting.

 Current working knowledge of OPWDD regulations; applicable federal, state, and local laws, codes, and

regulations.

 Proficient knowledge of MS Office applications.

 Must be able to display a high level of professionalism and discretion and understand the sensitive nature of

confidential employee information with superior emotional intelligence.

 Ability to travel within Suffolk County.

 Ability to work on call as needed.

Salary 74,000-79,000 Yearly
