JOB SUMMARY: Senior Principal, Implementations and Business Operations

As the Senior Principal, Implementations and Business Operations, you will be responsible for overseeing the strategic planning, execution, and delivery of EFS client implementations. This role requires a dynamic individual with a strategic mindset, exceptional leadership, and client relationship skills with a proven track record in both program and project management. The Senior Principal, Implementations and Business Operations plays a critical role in driving organizational success by overseeing the planning and execution of strategic initiatives within a matrix organization.

This is a highly visible position with the opportunity to directly influence the success of the business.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Strategic Planning:

  • Develop and implement strategic plans that align with EFS objectives and priorities.

  • Translate strategic goals into actionable project/program objectives.

  • Design internal readiness and/or external awareness strategies for seamless execution and adoption.

  • Program Management:

  • Lead a team of cross-functional partners and project managers for the planning, execution, and delivery of programs across the organization.

  • Oversee comprehensive program plans, including scope, timelines, deliverables, budgets, and resource requirements.

  • Monitor program progress, ensuring adherence to schedule, budget, and quality standards.

  • Stakeholder Management:

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and clients including executives, department heads, and project teams, using influence to gain stakeholder support necessary to achieve desired outcomes.

  • Communicate program status, milestones, and risks to stakeholders in a clear, concise, and timely manner.

  • Raise and mitigate escalations/concerns/issues, identifying accountability and back up/alternate strategies to deliver.

  • Team Leadership:

  • Provide leadership and direction within Evernorth Federal Services, ensuring clarity of goals, roles, and responsibilities.

  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment, promoting teamwork, innovation, and continuous improvement.

  • Other responsibilities:

  • EFS deeper understanding of fixed and variable expenses. (Analysis, Options, Forecasting, cost center allocations)

  • Partnership and liaison for gross margin and expense activities with Finance

  • Facilitate reduction of cross-functional expenses

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, operations, or related field. MBA preferred. PMP or other relevant certifications a plus.

  • 12+ total years of experience with 8+ years in strategic program management with a track record of successfully leading cross-functional complex implementations from conception to completion.

  • Experience working with Federal client engagements preferred

  • Knowledge of either pharmacy benefits, specialty pharmacy, telehealth, medical utilization management, and/or behavioral health services preferred

  • Ability to effectively prioritize work, quickly identify impacts of competing and upcoming projects and initiatives and manage accordingly

  • Experience developing go-live strategies

  • Knowledge of IT/Business infrastructure and prioritization

  • Understanding of analytics and performance metrics

  • Self-starter able to solve complex challenges with minimal guidance or day to day direction.

  • Advanced problem-solving skills with the ability to inspire and work cross–functionally to resolve issues and generate results among potentially conflicting constituencies.

  • Able to guide towards specific deliverables within an environment of tight deadlines and significant pressure.

  • Embraces creativity to set a vision for the team and lead by example.

  • Successful resolution of pressing issues and conflict resolution.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong cross-functional relationships.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, presentations, and negotiations with the ability to convey complex ideas and information to diverse audiences.

Note: This role is hybrid position, with preference in St. Louis, MO.

If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 182,300 - 303,900 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus and long term incentive plan.
