NW Construction, Inc. Off Road Truck Driver in Big Timber, Montana

SummaryTruck Drivers must handle various duties on the job to ensure smooth and efficient project progress. Paramount among these is operating off road articulated or rigid frame dump trucks in compliance with the company's operating procedures and safety regulations. Truck Drivers are also expected to perform daily maintenance checks on equipment, report any malfunctions or safety concerns, and ensure that the machinery is in good working condition before and after usage.Essential FunctionsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.Operate heavy-duty off-road dump trucks to transport materials such as sand, gravel, dirt, and rocks.Conduct daily inspections and perform routine maintenance on equipment ensuring proper functioning.Load and offload dirt, rocks, debris, and other materials from heavy equipment.Maintain logs of trips and other related activities.Monitor and adjust machine settings to ensure safety and efficiency.Follow safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe work environment.Collaborate with other construction workers such as surveyors, engineers, and foremen to coordinate tasks.Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.Follow environmental regulations and guidelines to protect the natural surroundings.Provide suggestions to refine workflow and boost efficiency.CompetenciesKnowledge of safe driving and operation of off-road vehicles.Ability to navigate in off-road and difficult terrain.Ability to understand, read, and interpret maps and GPS systems.Ability to operate specific size and type of trucks being used.Knowledge of standard operating procedures for rock truck operations.Knowledge of applicable safety regulations and safe work practices.Ability to maintain records and logs.Excellent coordination and ability to manage simultaneous operations efficiently.Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.Strong understanding of operational characteristics and maintenance of equipment.Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety protocols.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment. Supervisory ResponsibilitiesNone.Work EnvironmentActive construction site, mining area, or other industrial setting where large scale projects are taking place.Working around various heavy equipment operations. Exposure to various weather conditions such as extreme heat, cold, rain, or wind.Minimum RequirementsMust be at least eighteen (18) years of age.Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future.Must have a valid, unrestricted Driver’s License.At least two years related experience in the construction industry required.Proficient knowledge of operating various heavy equipment, including haul trucks.A strong commitment to safety, with a thorough understanding of equipment maintenance and repair procedures.Excellent hand-eye coordination and physical stamina to handle long hours of sitting, standing and operating heavy equipment.Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues as they arise.Effective communication and teamwork abilities, with a professional and positive attitude towards coworkers and clients.
