Summary The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is accountable for all hospital day-to-day administrative and operational functions. This role involves determining the growth strategy, executing revenue generating/cost-cutting initiatives, and achieving the financial targets of the hospital. The COO ensures excellent patient experience through high quality patient care and efficient administrative processes. Additionally, the COO will serve as the regulatory contact for state and local health officials for any hospital regulatory matters.

Job Duties Owns day-to-day operations of assigned hospital or region, with full authority of all operational decisions ensuring effective service delivery. Accountable for the hospital P&L, which includes leading the workforce planning process and deploys systems and processes to align staffing with the budget, volumes, productivity, and patient acuity. Uses benchmarking tools to monitor staffing and manages staffing levels to the appropriate Enterprise labor productivity policies. Oversees the annual operating plan and implements project plans with multidisciplinary teams to achieve key performance indicators (KPIs), Operational Improvement (OI) initiatives, and Transformational Initiatives (TIs) within the assigned market. Cascades KPIs and goals to medical leaders, managers, and frontline staff to enable alignment. Applies change management techniques to achieve results. Ensures excellent patient experience and that the hospital meets high standards of patient care, safety, and compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards. Partners with Regional President, LVHN Institutes and Service Lines to develop and execute site-specific growth plans. Supervises the VP or Director of Operations at assigned facilities, removes barriers to execution, escalates key decisions to senior leaders, and provides resources to enable service delivery. Builds relationships with the local community, board members, patients, and stakeholders to promote the hospital's mission and services. Ensures the hospital complies with all relevant federal, state, and local healthcare regulations and laws. Acts as main point-of-contact to the Joint Commission and all state / local health officials. Oversees the maintenance and improvement of hospital facilities and infrastructure. Leads the hospital's response to emergencies and crises, ensuring patient and staff safet .

Minimum Qualifications Master's Degree 10 years in a senior administrative role, with a proven track record of effective leadership and organizational growth. Strong understanding of healthcare finance, operations, and regulatory environments and business functions such as HR, Finance, and IT. Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills Proven ability to develop and implement efficient processes and standards. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Commitment to the highest ethical standards and professional integrity.

Physical Demands Lift and carry 25 lbs. frequent sitting/standing, frequent keyboard use, *patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
