Position Summary...
What you'll do...
We are seeking a highly skilled S oftware Engineer III to join our team at Walmart
As a Software engineer III, you will be responsible for low level design, development, impact analysis, debugging and production support for consumer facing applications at Walmart .
This team will automate deployments, support lower environments, optimize how work is done, and scale solutions throughout the division. They will use coding languages, frameworks, infrastructure, and platforms to build minimalistic code for entire components/applications and ensure they meet business/technical requirements. The team will also implement streaming, database, logging/monitoring, quality, safety, and security standards, and emerging tools and technologies. They will work with program metrics, reporting tools, and processes, continuous integration/continuous deployment, defect life-cycle process, defect tracking tools, and methodologies. Furthermore, the team will enhance or implement new features using Spark with Scala/Java, implement Docker for containerization, and Kubernetes for orchestration. They will also integrate with CI/CD tools and code management tools and follow SDLC and secure SDL frameworks and tools.
What you'll do:
Strong Software Engineering background is preferred.
Ability to understand the Business/Stakeholder/Technical requirements and assist in analyzing the existing solutions to address the needs (in case of agile methodology , for the iteration). Prepare requirement traceability matrix and maintain traceability between business requirements, functional requirements, design and test cases. Contribute to the creation of user stories for component/module/simple requirements (for example: based on scalability etc.) (For agile methodology ).
Requires knowledge of risk analysis methodologies; Cost Analysis; Business objectives ; Classification of requirements; Domain Knowledge; User stories concepts; Functional / Non-Functional Requirements; Scoping and Estimation
Experience in creating/configuring minimalistic code for entire component/application and ensure the components are meeting business/technical requirements, non-functional requirements, low-maintainability, high- availability and high-scalability needs. Assist in the selection of appropriate languages (E.g., JavaScript, Python, C# etc.), development standards and tools (E.g., Monday.com, Linx, Embold etc.) for software coding/configuration. Take initiative to learn the fundamentals of different coding languages and frameworks that would be useful for future scope of work. Build scripts for automation of repetitive and routine tasks in CI/CD (Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery), Testing or any other process (as applicable). Implement telemetry features as required independently. Ensure security policy requirements are properly applied to components/application during code development/configuration.
Sound business judgement as well as ability to think clearly, analyze quantitatively, problem-solve, scope technical requirements and prioritize.
What you'll bring:
Knowledge of Coding languages (E.g. Java, Python, C#, Node, etc.); frameworks (E.g. ActiveX, .Net, Spring, Hybernate, Android application framework etc.); Infrastructure (Linux, Powershell, TerraForm, Go, VM Ware, Nutanix etc...) and Platforms (E.g. Microsoft Azure, Apple IOS etc.); Streaming (KAFKA, Rabbit MQ, etc...); Database (Informix, Azure, SQL Server, Cosmos, Cassandra, etc...); Logging/ Monitoring ( Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus, etc...) Quality, Safety and Security (PCI etc.) standards; Emerging tools and technologies; Cloud Orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker, etc..), CI/CD Tools (Ansible, Jenkins, Concord, etc..) Code Management Tools (Github, GitLab, etc) ; SDLC; Secure SDL frameworks and tools.
Experience with program metrics; Program Reporting, logging tools and processes; Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CICD)
Experience with defect life-cycle process, defect tracking tools and methodologies; Defect reporting; Regression testing; Root cause analysis; Root cause corrective action.
Experience with Relational and/or NoSQL Database.
Experience enhancing or implementing new features using Spark with Scala/ Java , Spark or Kafka streaming.
Experience implementing Docker for Containerization, and Kubernetes for orchestration.
Experience working with Big Data tools Hive , spark Sql etc ...
Experience integrating with CI/CD with Looper and Concord.
Experience maintaining and improving existing codebases and peer review code changes.

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00-$180,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
