Required education and certifications critical for the role-

Any Graduate or Post-Graduate (full time)

Required years of experience –

8-11 years of relevant experience

What the day will look like

The IT Lead - Quality Assurance tracks and leads the overall testing effort for a project, the testing team, the testing process, and/or the execution of the test plan. Writes, prioritizes, and reviews the test scenarios. Works independently with the ability to also lead the testing efforts.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

• Provides guidance and training to process-oriented workers, but does not have full performance management responsibilities.

•Accountable for the overall test strategy/test plan of the project, domain knowledge development and mentoring of the testing team.

• Ensures testing is completed on time and the testing team has test process adherence as defined during the requirement definition process or as agreed upon by the project team. Creates and executes test plans and scenarios as needed.

• Signs-off on the quality of the solution ensuring that it meets client requirements.

• Responsible for calculating defect metrics.

• Acts as a gate keeper for the end deliverable.

• Leads defect triage meetings and ensures a plan exists for closure of critical defects.

• Provides root cause and corrective action on the defects found and implements the learnings.

• Understanding of test methodologies, relevant project processes, and tools (Agile/Waterfall, toolsets).

• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Ability and willingness to learn more about the tools specific to the assigned projects.

• Manual testing experience.

• Basic understanding of Project Lifecycle.

• Knowledge of database and SQL when applicable.

• Knowledge of the domain where applicable.

• When specified by the manager for the project, experience in automation testing, data interchange, data analysis, reporting, and web services testing.

• Strong analytical skills.

• Demonstrates and models behaviors described in the Aon Leadership Model.
