Location/Division Specific Information
The Bend, Oregon Thermo Fisher Scientific site consists of approximately 100 highly motivated employees focused on contract early phase clinical drug product formulation development and manufacturing. The site is a part of the Pharma Services Group (PSG), which also encompasses drug substance manufacturing, clinical distribution and commercial drug product launch. Bend, Oregon is an appealing community of around 100,000 people commonly known as ‘the outdoor playground of the West’ because of the myriad of available outdoor activities and desirable living conditions.
How will you make an impact?
The Project Manager I acts as the primary liaison between site customers and Thermo Fisher pharmaceutical development teams to achieve project goals and timelines. The PM I works with functional departments to balance project needs with site resources and communicates proactively with all levels of the internal organization ensure client satisfaction.
What will you do?
Manage a portfolio of approximately 4-7 active projects from Early Development through GMP production and stability
Handle routine communication with the customer on company’s behalf as primary client contact
Uphold standards of PM practice with respect to client communications and meeting agenda/minutes
Manage client expectations efficiently with some assistance from Management.
Plan, monitor and ensure completion of all activities outlined in approved quotes
Seek opportunities for changes of scope and prepare in a timely manner
Participate in site S&OP process, provide needed information as required to support financial forecasting requirements
Learn to identify project risks the pathways for resolution
Seek out expertise to learn the critical aspects of drug development strategies
Advocate for opportunities to improve performance of PM Department using PPI tools
Supports senior PMs on client projects as assigned by management.
How will you get here?
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field required; Science, Engineering or Business is an asset
At least three (3) years of Pharmaceutical development experience
At least one (1) year of experience working on client projects
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required
Experience with Smartsheet SaaS preferred
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written)
Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices
Ability to establish working relationship with clients and functional partners
Well-organized, meticulous, and comfortable working on different projects simultaneously
