PeaceHealth is seeking a RN Program Coordinator - Cardiovascular Administration for a Full Time, 0.90 FTE, Day position.
The salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $52.08 – $78.12. The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc.
Job Summary
This position oversees and guides the function of the STEMI accreditation and transition to Chest Pain Center. In collaboration with the Director, Manager, Medical Director and interdisciplinary team, develops and monitors STEMI and chest pain protocols, order sets and clinical guidelines. Provides clinical quality and performance improvement expertise to enhance outcomes. This position assists in the planning, development and implementation of processes and protocols related to this population. Collaborates with physicians, caregivers, ED, nursing units, EMS and community to improve processes and care of these patients. This position is responsible for working directly with leadership and support staff to provide leadership and direction for the current STEMI program and transition to Chest Pain Center. Assists with clinical management of Level One patients including coordination of patient care, multidisciplinary teams, performance improvement, and education activities. Further responsibilities include coordination, implementation and sustainability of various STEMI programs and services.
Essential Functions
Coordinates and provides direction to the interdisciplinary team including coordination and communications with the medical staff, nursing, and other clinical support areas by providing accurate and timely information and written communication.
In collaboration with the Manager, Medical Director and interdisciplinary team, develops and monitors STEMI and chest pain protocols, guidelines, order sets. Serves as a resource for hospital staff on all STEMI and chest pain related issues.
Coordinates and implements process improvements. Identifies areas of opportunities and works closely with clinical staff and management to ensure compliance.
Conducts and coordinates inter-facility, EMS and regional professional staff training. Participates in community education and promotion of the program and practice guidelines among current and future sites.
Verifies, analyzes, and interprets data in designated registries. Compares outcomes against program goals. Participates in protocol design for data collection, feedback, and analysis.
Coordinates planning, evaluation of program effectiveness, efficiency and quality of service. Represents the program on inter-facility committees to enhance and foster optimal care. Provides ongoing assessment of program needs.
Facilitates changes in clinic processes that will promote the goals and objectives. In collaboration with Manager and Medical Director, provides leadership for the STEMI program.
Utilizes the concepts of Quality Improvement when planning and implementing process changes.
Conducts quarterly reporting of program effectiveness to ensure long-term sustainability.
In collaboration with Manager, Medical Director and interdisciplinary team, develops, coordinates and promotes transition to chest pain center in line with chosen accreditation agency.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education
Required: Degree from an Accredited School of Nursing
Required: Bachelor of Science in Nursing or equivalent
Master's Degree Preferred.
Experience
Required: Minimum of 4 years in a healthcare setting
Required: Minimum of 2 years of Critical care or cardiac nursing experience
Required: Knowledge of current ACC STEMI guidelines
Credentials
Required: Registered Nurse in state of practice
Required Upon Hire: Basic Life Support and
Required Upon Hire: Advanced Cardiac Life Support
Skills

Working Conditions
Lifting
Patient handling no greater than 35 lbs. without the use of assistive equipment and/or devices (NIOSH).
Fine motor skills to be able to grasp and control medical equipment and perform precise procedures.
Push/Pull: Frequently up to 45 lbs. force (i.e., WOW, medical carts).
Perform hands on CPR at least 20 mins using 100-125 lbs. of force (National Assoc. of EMS Physicians and AHA) Frequency should be seldom or occasionally.
Ability to move around area with frequent sitting.
Bending/ stooping/ squatting/ reaching/ kneeling frequently.
Lifting (non-patient) up to 20 lbs. occasionally and 5 lbs. frequently.
Environmental Conditions
Exposure to biohazard, body fluids and airborne particles.
Must be able to complete tasks in a noisy environment.
Mental/Visual
Vision and hearing required within normal limits (glasses, contacts, hearing aids permitted).
Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
