Job Description Embedded Software Development Engineer (SDE) is a technical project leader who designs and delivers complex integrated robotic hardware solutions that have broad influence on the business and customers. You will develop innovative embedded software designs for our emerging robotic systems. The ideal candidate has experience designing, developing and delivering robotic systems; enjoys collaborative and analytical problem solving; and possesses practical knowledge of robotic design, modern embedded systems, and strong software fundamentals. Basic Qualifications - B.S. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or any related field to robotics. - 2+ years of professional experience in Software Development for embedded platforms using C/C++ or Rust. - Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) such as FreeRTOS. - Proficiency using debugging tools and instruments, such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, etc. - Experience designing and developing embedded systems architectures, and familiarity with common sensors (Hall, Reed Switches, Encoders, IMUs), actuators (BLDC, Servo, Stepper Motors), and communications protocols (I2C, SPI, CAN, UDP). - Proficiency using software development tools (IDEs, debuggers), build systems (e.g. CMake) and version control systems (Git). - Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, Shell. Preferred - Familiarity with the STM32 family of microcontrollers. - Strong understanding of Control Theory, specifically Motion Planning and Control applied to single-axis systems. - Experience working with BLDC motors (Trapezoidal and Field Oriented Control). - Experience with Over-the-Air (OTA) firmware update mechanisms.
