Position summary T-Mobile is America's supercharged Un-carrier, delivering an advanced 4G LTE and transformative nationwide 5G network that will offer reliable connectivity for all. Data Scientists located in Bellevue, WA will develop, enhance, and operationalize the key statistical models to understand economics drivers and identify anomalies in business performances. Position duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Gather, cleanse and analyze data, build mathematical models, and develop solutions for strategic enterprise level problems. Perform exploratory analysis to determine key business trends and correlations. Apply predictive analytics to build optimization models with minimal oversight. Apply statistical methodologies to large, complex data sets. Build projections/forecasts and articulating the methods, formulas, and assumptions. Build mathematical models that support business efficiency initiatives. Explain complex formulas to others who may not be experts in mathematics/ statistics. Communicate findings in a business context to stakeholders at various business and technical skill levels. Apply statistical techniques and mathematical skills to assess the financial and operational impacts to the business at an enterprise level. Aid in data-driven decision making paired with forward-thinking business and industry trends. Participate in and prepare for sessions to identify the action-oriented hypotheses. Create executive-level presentations and present complex analytics in a clear and concise manner. Telecommuting is permitted, but applicants must live within a reasonable commuting distance. Skill requirements: (1) Performing Quantitative analysis to identify drivers of change and create monthly and weekly dashboards to track historical performance trends. (2) Mining customer data in Teradata by writing SQL queries and analyzing and generating insights with statistical computer languages including R and SAS programming. (3) Conducting time-series analysis including autoregressive, moving average, and exponential smoothing to forecast short-term and long-term business metrics including activation volume and disconnect volume, and building financial models to assess Return on Investment and Net Present Value. (4) Creating statistical models for customer lifetime value, churn and customer segmentation using machine learning techniques such as Logistic Regression, and Random Forest, to understand business drivers and identify pricing optimization opportunities. (5) Evaluating new marketing initiatives efficiency leveraging control and test groups with proficiency in SQL join statements, subqueries, and volatile tables in Teradata database, as well as manipulating large datasets with Excel Power Pivot/VBA/R/Python/SAS. Experience and education requirements: PRIMARY REQUIREMENTS: Master's degree in Statistics, Math, Economics or related, and 1 years of relevant work experience. ALTERNATIVE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Math, Economics or related, and 3 years of relevant work experience.
