What will I be doing?

As the Service Department Trainee, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Maintain a high level of customer service awareness throughout your work.
  • Assist guests and attendants with basic guest service work.
  • Know the latest information of the hotel’s surrounding area, places of interest, scenery, etc., to provide convenience to customers.
  • Effective communication and cooperation with all departments.
  • Assist Guest Staff in ensuring the daily tasks of the Front Desk are carried out, including but not limited to work supervision, room assignment, reporting, credit limit checking, computer data backup and master account checking.
  • Assist on-duty Guest Waiters to ensure accuracy of all bills and to provide efficient and efficient checkout service.
  • Quickly and efficiently transfer all incoming calls and greet guests in a cordial and friendly manner.
  • Answer and respond to guests’ questions and requests quickly and accurately, including the operating time and location of all dining places.
  • Use a warm tone of communication and greeting for all guests, making them feel welcomed by the hotel.
  • Accurate and timely delivery of information to customers to ensure customer privacy.
  • Arrange and store guest luggage in an organized manner and ensure its safety.
  • Assist guests with baggage collection if necessary, ensure timely departure, arrange delivery, and welcome them back.
  • Manage convenience stores, providing guests with a variety of items, according to price requirements, for guests to choose from.
  • Familiarize with the early warning measures of fire and other emergencies, implementing them in strict accordance to relevant rules and regulations of the hotel.
  • Familiarize with the menu and beverage list, to be able to explain it to guests in detail.
  • Learn about other restaurant / bar dishes in order to recommend them to guests.
  • Be familiar with the opening hours of all restaurant and hotel departments.
  • Recommend other attractive restaurants or places to guests.
  • Assist in cleaning of on-duty appliances such as cutlery, China, etc.
  • Show good mental and professional appearance, greet guests at the door of the restaurant or bar at any time, and ask about customer satisfaction.
  • Usher guests to their seats according to their preference of smoking or non-smoking areas.
  • Make sure all areas are as clean as they were at the beginning of the meal.
  • Greet guests with a smile as they enter or leave the restaurant, regardless of the service area.
  • Put guest service first.
  • Always reflect professional quality in the work process.
  • Avoid offensive or impolite language.
  • Report any incidents to your supervisor or manager.
  • Perform any other reasonable duties as assigned.

A Service Department Trainee serving Hilton Brands is always working on behalf of our Guests and working with other Team Members. To successfully fill this role, you should maintain the attitude, behaviours, skills, and values that follow:

  • High school degree or above.
  • Familiar with basic catering English vocabulary.
  • Ability to complete tasks on time according to priorities.
  • Keep a solid learning attitude, complete all work and resolve problems calmly in a challenging environment.
  • Possess the knowledge of Chinese and Western cuisine and able to apply it to the job with high efficiency and quality.
  • Have a health certificate.
  • Knowledgeable of food safety systems.
