1 Seasonal position, variable hours and no benefits. Approximate employment period: May 1 through mid-October (2025)

GENERAL SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Assistant Buildings & Grounds Supervisor, seasonal position is responsible for grounds maintenance and assisting in work of County properties. Performs all work in accordance with essential functions and responsibilities as described below.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Assists maintenance workers on jobs, projects, and scheduled events. 2. Leads seasonal employees and temporary workers. 3. Cuts grass and trims lawns at all facilities. 4. Maintains and waters flower gardens and pots. 5. Maintains, lubricates, and cleans equipment. 6. Picks up trash and empty trash receptacles. 7. Lines and grades ball fields and sets them up for games. 8. Makes repairs to bleachers, corrals, or other areas as needed. 9. Sweeps curbs, walks and parking lots. 10. Uses equipment such as walking and riding mowers, push mowers, chain saws and a variety of powered and non-powered hand tools. 11. Punctual and consistent attendance is an essential function. 12. Performs other required tasks and duties as required. The above statements are intended to describe the general nature of work being performed by people assigned this classification. QUALIFICATIONS: Must be at 18 years of age. Must have a valid Michigan driver's license with a good driving record. Must be able to pass a drug test and background check.

PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS: (With or without reasonable accommodation) Work tasks are performed mainly outdoors and involve physical strength and endurance. Must be able to work in varying temperatures and inclement weather. Must be able to exert and lift 20 to 50 pounds.
