Position Summary
The Program Coordinator provides the management and coordination of activities related to the College's State of Michigan Workforce Plan grant-funded Bruin Engineering Engagement Program (BEEP). Specifically, this programming supports MEDC pillars for opportunity and supporting business and entrepreneurial growth through talent solutions. Due to increased demand for a skilled workforce in the manufacturing sector in our region, this grant centers around outreach and education for the community, specifically focusing on elementary and secondary teachers, students, and their parents about the opportunities and trainings for advanced manufacturing and pre-engineering careers.
The WFS-BEEP Program Coordinator provides support and oversight to the various Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) grant-funded outreach activities, including but not limited to educator workshops, a pre-engineering career pipeline program in local middle and high schools, work-based learning for high schoolers, the marketing of manufacturing career pathways, and further support and engagement with annual Manufacturing Day for local k-12 students.
The Program Coordinator provides administrative support in the development and delivery of the project as it relates to outreach, recruitment, and intake, articulation, curriculum development and alignment to industry-recognized credentials, and work-based learning agreements, stakeholder and employer engagement, and grant documentation and compliance. This position is responsible for collecting data and preparing progress and outcomes reports, as required by the grant Scope of Work. They serve a very important delivery role in the College's BEEP initiative, which expands outreach and awareness programs, feeding a pipeline into in-demand career sectors in our region.
