Job Summary

Manage the Substation and Metering Departments. Design and construct all Electric Division substation and revenue metering improvements. Supervise the overall operation of the Substation and Metering Department, which includes performance of all preventative maintenance, repair, and testing of substation and metering equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design and direct the construction all Electric Division substation improvements. Responsibilities include design, cost estimation, equipment purchase, construction management, functional testing, and commissioning into service of all substation projects.
  • Supervise the operation of the Substation Department in the performance of all inspection, maintenance, diagnosis, repair, and testing of substation equipment. Inspection and maintenance of the 230kV related protection systems shall be performed in conformance with FERC Reliability Standard PRC-005. Inspection and maintenance of the Under-frequency Load Shedding equipment shall be performed in conformance with FERC Reliability Standard PRC-008. Inspection and maintenance of substations shall conform to the PUC Inspection and Maintenance Standards and the annual maintenance plan for substation equipment filed with the PUC.
  • Direct the operation of the Meter Department.
  • Represent the Electric Division at EPA and other functions. Train department personnel to perform assigned work safely and efficiently. Assist restoring the T&D system after storms and other troubles and perform other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of electrical equipment operation and unique protection & control systems.
  • Knowledge of applicable Federal & PUC Regulations (PRC-005, PRC-008, Oil Spill Response Plan, hazardous waste disposal, periodic meter replacements and sample testing, etc.).
  • Knowledge of UGI System Operations.
  • Knowledge of budgeting process and UGI policies, rules and practices.
  • Knowledge of test equipment and UGI metering principles and practices.

Education and Experience

  • B.S. Electrical Engineering
  • 8-10 years' experience
  • Professional Engineers License (preferred)
