Overview

The kitchen is the sizzling, egg-cracking, aromatic heart of Karm Chling. Were looking for a cheerful Cook / Kitchen Assistant to join our talented kitchen crew as a paid, residential staff member.

The Cook / Kitchen Assistant should have training and experience working in a commercial kitchen and be capable of preparing large buffet-style meals that include options for omnivore, vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free diets.

\ Responsibilities

• Prepare a variety of foods, including meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, baked goods, and other items for cooking in broilers, ovens, grills, fryers and a variety of other kitchen equipment.
• Adhere to pre-planned menu and special dietary needs with appropriate substitutions when necessary.
• Know and comply consistently with our cooking methods, quality standards, and kitchen rules, policies and procedures.
  • Assure all meals meet quality standards and public health guidelines
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary work station and high standards of personal hygiene.
• Stock and maintain sufficient levels of food products at line stations to assure a smooth service period.
• Assist Kitchen Manager in tracking inventory and developing food orders.
• Handle, store and rotate all products properly.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Kitchen Manager.
