Job Title: Mechanical Designer / Spooler

The primary function of this position is to assist the Mechanical Fabrication Shop Supervisor in producing drawings, drafting assignments, and developing and printing blueprints as needed. This position works closely with the Mechanical Designers, Mechanical Fabrication Shop Supervisor, and the Mechanical Design Fabrication Manager.

This job requires the ability and desire to work in a fast paced multi-tasked environment with a focus towards detail, analysis, and customer service. It occasionally will require travel to potential/existing customer sites.

Essential Duties / Responsibilities:

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Print blueprints and distributing as necessary.

  • Compile installation drawings.

  • Miscellaneous drafting assignments as directed by the Mechanical Design Fabrication Manager.

  • Produce any drawings needed for mechanical fabrication.

  • Material take-offs developing blueprints for fabrication.

  • Travel occasionally to construction site for surveys as directed by the Mechanical Design Fabrication Manager.

Education / Work Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED is required.

  • Previous piping experience is a plus.

  • Previous experience with AutoCAD is required.

  • Previous experience with Revit MEP is a plus.

Computer Skills:

  • Significant experience with Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel) applications required.

  • Technical/other training or better

  • Bachelors or better in Mechanical Engineering

Experience

Required

  • Experience with Revit MEP.

  • AutoCAD training or experience

  • Mechanical aptitude
