Covenant Health DIRECTOR VALUE BASED CONTRACT OPERATIONS in Bangor, Maine

Position Summary:

Community Care Partnership of Maine (CCPM) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director of Value-Based Contract Operations to oversee and manage the organization's value-based contracts.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversight & Management of Value-Based Contract Performance

  • Oversee and manage CCPM's value-based contracts, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and performance targets.

  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize contract performance, focusing on cost, quality, and utilization metrics.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with payer point of contact; serve as the lead point of contact for CCPM on all payer-facing work.

  • Maintain contract summary sheets and other relevant documents for all CCPM contracts in collaboration with CCPM’s Executive Administrator.

    Contract Negotiation Strategy

  • Lead, develop and execution CCPM’s contract negotiation strategy in collaboration with the CCPM leadership team.

  • Analyze and evaluate current and proposed contract terms, performance metrics, and financial implications to ensure alignment with CCPM's goals and objectives.

    Collaboration and Performance Improvement

  • Work closely with the Quality Supervisor, Director of Clinical Operations & Population Health and other staff members to identify opportunities for improvement at the ACO and TIN level.

  • Develop and implement interventions to enhance contract performance, focusing on quality, cost, and utilization metrics and targets.

    Contract Performance Optimization Strategy Meetings

  • Serve as the Chair and develop and execute a structure for monthly contract performance optimization strategy meetings with CCPM's leadership team (Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operating Officer, Chief Clinical Operations Officer, and Chief Medical Officer).

    Education:

    A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related discipline) is required.

  • Facilitate discussions and decision-making processes to review the ACO's contract performance and identify areas for improvement to achieve desired outcomes.

    Reporting and Analytics

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive reporting systems to track and analyze contract performance metrics; collaborate with data analytics teams to ensure accurate and timely reporting of key performance indicators.

  • Oversee the operationalization of population health tools, and all other pertinent data and information, to support contract performance optimization.

  • Collaborate with relevant teams to ensure effective utilization of data and analytics for identifying improvement opportunities and implementing interventions.

    Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including payers, providers, and regulatory bodies.

  • Represent CCPM in contract negotiations, meetings, and discussions related to value-based contracts.

    Policy and Advocacy Work

  • Conduct research and analysis to understand the potential implications of proposed policies or legislation.

  • Identify and analyze policies and legislation that align with the Community Care Partnership of Maine’s mission, values and identified advocacy priorities.

  • Develop position statements, policy recommendations, and advocacy strategies to influence policymakers and legislators in collaboration with other key stakeholders, including the Policy & Advocacy Subcommittee

    Other Duties as Assigned

    Experience:

    Minimum of 5 years of experience in the healthcare industry, preferably with exposure to both payer and accountable care contract operations required.
