We store and manage data in a structured way to enable multitude of applications across various industries. ​​Azure Cosmos DB is one of the fastest growing Azure services that provides globally distributed, low-latency, massively scalable, multi-model cloud database service. It is designed to enable developers to build planet-scale applications.

We are hiring a Software Engineer 2 to join the Azure Cosmos DB team, where you will be working on a large-scale, distributed, transactional and analytical database. This role is on the team that works on Storage , Vector Indexes, Inverted Indexes, Database Engines and other LSM (Log Structured Store) technologies. In this role, you will work on core engine and distributed systems problems that power the planet scale database.

Responsibilities

​​Debug and troubleshoot complex issues across multiple software components of distributed systems.

Optimize and improve the performance, scalability, reliability, and security of the software.

Collaborate with other engineers, product managers, and customers to gather requirements, provide feedback, and deliver solutions.

Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and quality criteria.

Qualifications

Required /Minimum Qualifications

​​Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#,

OR equivalent experience.

2+ years of experience in software design, development, and delivery experience using a structured programming language

Other Requirements

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check:

• This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter

Preferred/Additional Qualifications
