PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

Technical Services teams within SAPs Business Technology Platform works on creating amazing developer and customer experience by delivering easy to consume cloud native services and applications, that makes integration, extensibility, compliance, commercialization, and the operation of applications a non-issue and thus enabling SAPs customer and Partners to focus on creating business value.

Data Privacy & Compliance team works on some of the most critical topics within SAP which is to enable businesses to adhere to key data privacy and compliance requirements. The team works on cutting edge technologies including building AI-enabled DPP framework that supports different AI use cases through privacy-compliant training data.

We are building a nimble and versatile engineering team. This team will be responsible for developing cutting-edge tools, providing development resources for proof-of-concept projects, and collaborating on groundbreaking Gen AI initiatives. Our ultimate objective is to support the privacy and ethics aspects of innovative Gen AI features throughout SAP. Join us in this exciting journey of revolutionizing the future of AI!

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

You will have to drive the architecture and design high quality product components in alignment with the key stakeholders that will be implemented by scrum teams

You will need to have a good understanding of the concepts of designing and developing microservices and their deployments into different runtimes like Kubernetes, Cloud Foundry in a containerized environment

As a valued member of our team, you will play a crucial role in pioneering the integration of modern AI capabilities, actively shaping the infusion of Generative AI features right from the beginning. This is a rare opportunity to make a significant impact and be part of a groundbreaking journey

Work closely with SAP data scientists to understand their projects and their needs. Create high level requirements and designs.

Define and implement architectural / coding best practices and participate in software design and code reviews with the development team consisting of frontend-, backend-, full-stack, Dev-Ops and ML engineers.

Support the product team with technical feasibility analysis, solution proposals, and ballpark effort estimations, guide developers while giving them space to learn and grow

Support customer workshops and engagements with holistic architecture and solution integration expertise Communicate with central architecture teams inside SAP for software design and integration tasks

Stay on top of technology trends and actively participate in the SAP Expert community to share knowledge.

You will need to understand the data privacy regulations and the impact on using data for training purpose and develop solutions that adhere to the AI Ethics

Work closely together with a global team of professionals to ensure successful execution of the project

Contribute to development with the team members and in code reviews, design reviews, and architecture discussions with other engineers

Understand the requirements from the consumers and design solutions that can work within the existing constraints of the platform and landscape

Mentor developers on software design, coding best practices and on latest technologies.

WORK EXPERIENCE

10-15 years of experience in Software Engineering.

Proven ability to work in an agile Environment using SCRUM methodology

Strong communication and collaboration skills, With the ability to work effectively in cross-cultural Teams.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS/ SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

Bachelor, Master or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or other relevant disciplines.

Bachelor, Master or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or other relevant disciplines.

Proven experience in cloud concepts and technologies with excellent design, developing, deploying, and testing multi-tenant business applications in the cloud with a focus on backend infrastructure.

Good understanding of microservices architecture, deployment environments, configuration of applications, change management principles.

Experience in developing data-driven microservices, APIs, CI/CD pipelines, TDD, hands-on experience with docker containers and Kubernetes, familiar with one of the cloud providers.

At least 5 years of professional experience as developer.

Proven ability to work in an agile environment using SCRUM methodology

Strong communication and collaboration skills, Self driven, with the ability to work effectively in cross-cultural teams

Experience of Machine Learning models and NLP techniques like BERT, Transformers, Sentence Transformers

Experience in designing efficient and high-throughput software architectures

Experience working with RAG technologies and LLM frameworks (LangChain and LlamaIndex), LLM model registries (Hugging Face), LLM APIs

Knowledge of Python libraries like Pandas, Scikit-Learn, NumPy, spaCy is required

Understanding of Machine Learning libraries and services like TensorFlow, PyTorch or Amazon SageMaker and in their optimized usage in production

Following additional skills would be an advantage:

Knowledge on Go and or Javascript / Node.js languages

Knowledge on Prompt Engineering and latest GenAI technologies

Cloud Foundry, K8S, Node.js, OpenAPI Specification, Springboot

Knowledge about the SAP Business Technology Platform.
