Vontier Global Controllership Analyst in Bangalore, India

Gilbarco Veeder-Root (GVR) is seeking an early in career accounting professional to play a critical role in supporting our global controls and compliance programs across multiple business units. Our ideal candidate will be a self-starter who has a strong technical accounting and audit background along with an unmatched ethical bias. While this person will be strong technically and in audit, this person will also have an interest in expanding their influence and experience by embedding within a business unit to work together with business and finance leaders This candidate will have appropriate professionalism and intellectual curiosity to provide confidence in their ability to identify and support resolution of accounting controls concerns while interfacing with our teams around the world to drive improvement.
In this role you will:
Support the creation and deployment of accounting policies effectively across the organization for existing and new transactions;
Execute on the GVR balance sheet review program to ensure appropriate quality and timeliness of procedures performed in alignment with policy and established goals
Manage internal control compliance through monthly monitoring and oversight of locations including reviews of key account reconciliations;
Interpret technical accounting guidance and apply to GVR business situations through policy development and deployment
Assist in the preparation of reporting packages, as required, to comply with corporate financial reporting requirements and statutory regulations.
Assist in month-end closing through preparation and processing of journal entries as necessary at a Global level;
Communicate accounting issues and complex financial topics as needed to non-financial managers and business leaders;
Support internal maintenance of Blackline reconciliation software as necessary
Participate in daily management and support tracking and management of metrics that ensure internal controls deployed globally
Provide ad-hoc accounting advice on a range of topics to GVR associates at all levels
Support monthly Balance Sheet Flux review and follow-up on trends and variances
Assist in overseeing SOX assessment processes for assigned sites as assigned
Lead the implementation and maintenance of internal financial controls, procedures, and remediation plans
Strong US GAAP and/or IFRS knowledge;
Excellent organizational and prioritization skills;
Ability to understand balance sheet accounts, their relationship with the P&L and business activities to ensure that accounting transactions comply with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Proven professional with understanding of accounting theory, current accounting issues, and accounting systems
Hands on experience with internal control structures including documentation and assessment of design and operating effectiveness of controls
Strong written and verbal communication skills; must be able to communicate effectively within all levels of the Company including those outside of the accounting function.
A proven track record in meeting deadlines and working collaboratively as part of a team
Experience and comfort with external auditors; able to interpret requests and provide deliverables to ensure an efficient audit
Demonstrated leadership capability and a strong desire to advance in your career through stretch assignments and personal growth
Accounting (or finance) undergraduate degree minimum; CPA (qualified accountant) strongly preferred
Minimum of 3 years accounting experience ideally with a large national or international accounting firm or within the internal audit practice of an entity operating in a manufacturing environment
Intimate working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (especially Excel) and tech savvy to enable adoption of new software tools
