What You'll Do

As a DevOps Engineer, you will have the unique opportunity to join the SAP Artificial Intelligence platform engineering team within SAPs AI unit. In a dynamic, fun, and start-up-like environment, you will have a great opportunity to learn and work on emerging technologies, solving real-world problems at the intersection of Cloud, DevOps, and Artificial Intelligence. You will collaborate with seasoned software engineers, DevOps experts and AI specialists to explore cutting-edge topics in the cloud AI ecosystem.

What You Bring

Knowledge of SCM tools (e.g., GIT/GitHub)

Proficiency in programming and scripting languages, preferably Bash, Python, Java, Groovy, or Go

Exposure to cloud-based development using Cloud Foundry, Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, GCP, Azure, or other container/PaaS environments

Understanding of micro-services architecture and APIs

Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and Jenkins pipelines; experience with Spinnaker or Terraform (or other Infrastructure as Code tools) is a plus

As the SAP AI Core Platform Engineering, We Are Responsible For:

Building secure and reliable tools to increase developer efficiency from local machines to production systems

Designing and implementing service and infrastructure management tools in line with DevOps principles

Developing tools to recover and monitor large-scale distributed systems running on Kubernetes

Incorporating security and quality from the start to build resilient, mission-critical AI systems

Evaluating and recommending tools that help measure and improve DevOps performance

Creating a centralized CI/CD (continuous integration and continuous deployment) pipeline for deploying applications to a variety of environments including Cloud Foundry, Kubernetes, and different cloud providers

Collaborating with CI/CD experts across locations to contribute to central CI/CD efficiency improvement initiatives

Supporting release-level activities

Developing monitoring solutions for our CI/CD pipelines to keep stakeholders informed

We strive for excellence in driving the continuous integration, continuous delivery, and infrastructure efforts to maturity. This role requires a solid understanding of the delivery and lifecycle of cloud-native applications, operations, deployment to Kubernetes, and DevOps principles. You will be an enabler for efficient and reliable delivery of the highest quality for one of SAP's most strategic platform developments.
