Johns Hopkins University Research Program Assistant in Baltimore, Maryland

The Department of Neurology is seeking a casual Research Program Assistant to help prepare data that will enable analyses within clinical trials and research datasets. The RPA will help extract neurological exam data from clinical notes in preparation for scoring of disability by a neurologist. The RPA may also assist with cleaning of data and other similar tasks. The position provides opportunity for training and advancement.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain data collection and analysis systems in support of research protocol, including the management of data, and paper files.

  • Aid in the smooth and efficient day-to-day operation of research and data collection activities in compliance with The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other relevant patient privacy statutes.

  • Enter data into study database, resolving issues with missing data. Obtain, if needed, clarification or corrections.

  • Establish log of missing items from study material using the checklist.

  • Communicate with research coordinators for the data management.

  • Organize and maintain research files.

  • Operate basic office machines.

  • Provide general support to office as needed; includes filing, record keeping, and other duties as assigned based on the needs of the research program.

  • Perform miscellaneous -related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or graduation equivalent.

  • Some related experience.

  • Additional education may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Some college courses preferred.

Starting Salary Range: $15.25 - $23.00 HRLY (Commensurate with experience)

Schedule: M-F; hours vary
