Johns Hopkins University Research Assistant in Baltimore, Maryland

We are looking for a Research Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, development, and testing of a new wrist assessment robot for rehabilitation applications.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform initial and ongoing maintenance on wrist assessment robot.

  • Improve existing wrist assessment robot hardware to support wrist flexion/extension and abduction/adduction.

  • Conduct thorough testing and troubleshooting of the wrist assessment robot for reliability, repeatability, and accuracy.

  • Collect pilot data using the system with human participants (healthy and stroke).

  • Collaborate with team members to understand project milestones and deliverables.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in related discipline.

  • Additional related experience may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in biomedical engineering, Robotics, or a related field.

  • Experience in developing and integrating mechatronics systems, preferably in the medical or robotics field.

  • Proficiency in CAD software for design and prototyping purposes.

  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Starting Salary Range: $17.00 - $30.00 HRLY (Commensurate with experience)

Employee group: Casual / On Call

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm

Exempt Status: Non-Exempt
