Create, organize, and evaluate UHDs sustainable food programs. Oversee education and training for staff and students on sustainable food topics and waste management. Collaborate with unit managers, dieticians, and chefs to incorporate sustainability into menus using Menus of Change principals. Work with dining leadership, chefs, and dieticians to improve UHDs sustainable food purchasing and menus. Develop strategies to enhance the sustainability of food services on campus, emphasizing student engagement and education. Manage and expand waste diversion initiatives at UHD locations.Develop and track the reporting of sustainable food metrics. Track sustainable food purchases and share insights with stakeholders. Manage participation in Menus for Change, Cool Foods Pledge, and AASHE STARS. Collaborate with dining leadership, chefs, and dieticians to enhance sustainable food purchasing tracking and data management. Delegate data management tasks to student employees as part of their educational program to enhance their career development. Create food waste data management plan.Manage the administrative support services for the sustainability department. Plan and oversee short and long-range projects, including strategies for funding and project implementation. Collaborate with the AVP of Dining on writing and securing grant funding and managing the sustainability teams budget and spending. Assist in coordinating grant processing, including application procedures, report coordination, and expense tracking. Recruit, interview, hire, and manage sustainability student employees, Garden Program Coordinator, and Sustainability Coordinator. Oversee training, planning, directing, administering programs, policies, and performance evaluations of sustainability staff and students. Other duties as assigned.Research, propose, and implement sustainability initiatives beyond food systems such as sustainable energy, LEED green buildings, and green fleet management. Represent UHD in sustainability-related meetings, committees, and collaborative projects. Maintain UHDs presence on campus and beyond as a leader in higher education sustainability. Manage and partner with other UHD departments and external organizations to raise awareness and engagement in sustainability programs. Collaborate with UHD Marketing team to create educational social media content promoting these initiatives.Assist with the student outreach programs including UT Farm Stand and campus gardens. Administer and advise the UT Farm Stand student programs through inventory management and program growth. Delegate UT Farn Stand and UHD garden space management to program coordinators. Host sustainability related events for students, staff, and faculty. Create and distribute marketing materials to educate the UHD community about sustainability efforts.
