Position Summary

Join CVS Health as a Senior Software Development Engineer, you will work with both full-time and contractors to execute the platform operations and project work within the IT organization at CVS Health. The Senior Software Development Engineer will develop, build, and support applications via a CI/CD pipelines. Duties for this role will include configuring and installing application software; collaborating with offshore teams to define and manage software application builds and releases. The Senior Software Development Engineer will also create automated delivery CI/CD pipeline; analyze system statistics; integrate applications with automation tools; monitor software environment for vulnerabilities; and manage patching and upgrades.

Key Responsibilities

  • DevOps practices for Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment pipeline and IT operations practices, scaling, and metrics, as well as running day-to- day operations from development to production

  • Integrate CI/CD pipelines through Jenkins, Gitlab, Nexus Repo, and Checkmarx to ensure development and deployment integration and quality control with automated testing and security governance

  • Certificate management on both installation, configuration, and troubleshooting. Monitoring all application related certificates and renew by working with internal and external partners

  • Collaborate with other workstreams, develop and implement system plans and ensure the business requirements meet the established business strategy and objectives

  • Support continuous improvement efforts by participating in post-incident reviews and implementing recommended changes to prevent recurrence

  • Understanding of Microservice patterns & concepts and troubleshooting issues along with fixing/remediating the defects and security vulnerabilities with CICD and automated testing strategies and tools

  • Maintain up-to-date documentation on system configurations, incident response protocols, and operational best practices

  • Experience in infrastructure components such as networking, load balancer, Red Hat (RHEL), firewall and monitoring tools (SiteScope, MIR3 & OBM)

  • Ability to adapt quickly to new technology and business requirements

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in DevOps/DevSecOps tools & technologies.

  • 3+ years of experience in java spring Microservices architecture & applications

  • 3+ years of experience in CICD pipelines development using Groovy, shell scripting & Python

  • 3 + years of experience in migration such as application, systems & cloud (Azure, AWS..etc)

  • 3+ years of experience in configuration management and automation tools (eg. Ansible or Chef)

  • 3+ years of experience in strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues and provide efficient solutions

  • 3+ years of experience/Knowledge in infrastructure components such as IP networking, LB, and firewall

  • 3+ years of experience in Hashicorp products (Consul & Vault) maintenance and support

  • 2+ years of experience with Dynatrace & Splunk

  • 2+ years of experience in cloud and on-prem platforms

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Pharmacy or Healthcare domain will be preferred

  • Experience with version control systems such as Git for managing test automation code repositories

  • Experience in building, testing, configuring, and deployment in complex software environments

  • Excellent problem solving/troubleshooting skills in Java based application

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (High School Diploma and 4 years relevant experience)

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$92,700.00 - $185,400.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
