Accenture Data Policy & Standards Senior Manager in Austin, Texas
As a Data Policy & Standards Senior Manager, you will establish, maintain, and continuously refine the data policy framework to meet evolving regulatory and business requirements. You will collaborate closely with legal, compliance, security, and operational teams to ensure effective implementation and monitoring of data policies. Through comprehensive training materials and change management initiatives, you will drive stakeholder engagement, ensuring organization-wide adherence to robust data governance standards. The Data Policy & Standards Senior Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring Accenture’s data assets remain compliant, secure, and aligned with the company’s strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Policy Framework Development & Maintenance
Design, implement, and update enterprise-wide data policies, standards, and guidelines in line with regulatory changes and industry best practices.
Ensure consistency across Accenture’s Data Governance organization by aligning all policy-related initiatives with organizational objectives.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Compliance
Partner with legal, compliance, security, and IT teams to translate regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA) into actionable policies.
Coordinate regular reviews of policies, monitoring adherence and making necessary updates in response to regulatory shifts or internal feedback.
Risk Assessment & Mitigation
Conduct risk assessments to identify potential vulnerabilities in data governance processes and propose risk mitigation strategies.
Develop and track key risk indicators, proactively addressing gaps in policy implementation.
Training & Communication
Create comprehensive training materials and conduct awareness sessions to help stakeholders understand and comply with data governance policies.
Lead change management efforts, ensuring smooth adoption of new or updated policies and maintaining clear, transparent communication.
Continuous Improvement & Strategic Alignment
Leverage feedback loops to refine and enhance policy frameworks, ensuring they stay relevant and effective in a rapidly evolving data environment.
Work with leadership to align data governance strategies with broader organizational goals, identifying opportunities for innovation and improvement.
Basic Qualifications:
Minimum of 8 years of experience in data governance, policy development and or compliance
Bachelor’s Degree
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Business Administration, Law, Information Management, or a related field.
Experience with implementing or designing Policy as Code
Strong familiarity with frameworks such as DAMA, ISO standards, and data lifecycle management.
Ability to translate theoretical models into practical policies that address complex data governance challenges.
Proficient in interpreting and operationalizing requirements from GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, and other relevant regulations.
Skilled in conducting risk assessments and implementing appropriate controls to maintain compliance.
Demonstrated track record in creating, rolling out, and managing enterprise-wide data policies and standards.
Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure policy alignment with strategic objectives.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, capable of influencing senior leaders and diverse stakeholder groups.
Adept at building consensus and driving change across multiple business units.
Proven ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously, anticipating potential risks and resolving issues swiftly.
Highly self-motivated, with a focus on continuous improvement and measurable outcomes.
Compensation at Accenture varies depending on a wide array of factors, which may include but are not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience.
