We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Survey Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating and scheduling survey crews, developing staking plans, managing survey data, and ensuring the accuracy of field measurements. This role is crucial in supporting our survey team and ensuring the successful execution of surveying projects and field operations.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and process work orders from Project Managers, evaluate information for field crew, and process field work orders accordingly.

  • Develop staking plans based on project requirements and survey data to guide field operations and ensure accurate measurements.

  • Coordinate and schedule survey crews to ensure efficient utilization of resources and adherence to project timelines.

  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of survey equipment, ensuring that all tools are calibrated and in optimal working condition.

  • Manage survey data including collection, organization, and processing to generate accurate reports and documentation for Project Managers and project files.

  • Upload data in AutoCAD and create exhibits.

  • Conduct quality checks on survey data and field measurements to verify accuracy and compliance with project specifications.

  • Collaborate with Project Managers, engineers, and field staff to support project objectives and address any survey-related challenges.

  • Follow safety protocols and procedures for survey personnel.

Essential Skills

  • Proficient in AutoCAD and other survey software.

  • 5-8 years of experience in the land surveying industry.

  • Experience with surveying equipment such as total stations, GPS, and data collectors.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and clients.

  • Experience in construction surveying.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Proficiency in survey data analysis and survey CAD.

  • Knowledge of topography, ALTA surveys, and quality assurance.

Work Environment

This position is office-based with standard hours of 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday. The company has about 50 employees and is located in Aurora. The survey team consists of 18 employees, including 3 Professional Land Surveyors (PLS) and 12 field staff. This role will involve close collaboration with the President and a PLS in the office. The individual will interact with the field crew and Project Managers to ensure seamless work and accurate data before presenting it to clients. Long-term opportunities include annual salary reviews, raises, and bonuses, with potential to build out a support survey team based on the company's growth.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $34.00 - $36.00/hr.
